Amelias birthday evening

A fun day at school,  Amelia took ice pops to celebrate with her classmates. She opened the rest of her presents before we went out to dinner at Hungry Jacks. Amelia just HAD to wear her Wonder Woman costume, then home for ice cream birthday cake. What a day!

Time to go

Amelia helps to pack up. Time to head for home.

Tullebudgera - day 7

Our last full day. We had a leisurely breakfast while the kids played tree climbing then walked across the road to Palm beach to play in the waves. We stayed longer than anticipated as it was so much fun! The kids were shattered after. That evening we met our friends at Marketta in Miami beach, a local street food market. We sampled some pizza, spring rolls and pulled pork rolls while we listened to the band. Exhausted by 7pm, we headed back to camp to bed.

Tullebudgera - day 6

Thursday brought another sunny day and we decided to hang around at the campsite in the morning playing games and swimming in the pool. The children slid down the slides about a hundred times while we sat and watched them as they started to shiver. After lunch, we went to play crazy golf - amelias request. It was good fun and we all managed at least one hole in one. We then headed down the coast, past our camp to currumbin. The kids got their surf boards out and caught some late afternoon waves. It's a lovely time of day just as the sun goes down. They got very sandy so had a shower at the surf lifesaver club then stayed there for dinner. It finished off our day nicely. Amelia was so tired she was asleep before we arrived home.

Tullebudgera - day 5

Another busy day at the coast!  We took a drive inland through lovely tree-lined roads and horse paddocks until reaching Currumbin Rock Pools. The water was mountain fresh and clear and we saw a few eels nibbling at the rocks. We all got in for a swim - Amelia in a spectacular fashion as she tumbled down the waterfall. Thankfully only her pride was damaged. After playing on the rocky far side of the swimming hole, William practically flew across to me saying 'I'm not going over there anymore - there's a massive snake with a black back and a yellow belly!' Oh yes. The one more commonly known as the rather deadly yellow-bellied black snake! We left shortly after that, stopping at a cool park on a lake where a bunch of old blokes were indulging in their hobby of miniature sailboat racing. We were all tiring by this time - well mum and dad were anyway - so spent an hour at camp before meeting Tiffany and Sam to go fishing in Sam's kayak and have a bbq dinner.
And we saw a dolphin too - another perfect day. Needless to say,  we all slept like babies.

Tullebudgera - day 4

We enjoyed a sunny day at the beach with our friends Tiffany, Zanna and Eli. The water was beautifully warm and clear. Amelia and I spent ages collecting shells along the edge to add to her 'collection'. We spent the afternoon at the campsite - the kids have made friends and play cricket, ride bikes and just hang out. No TV - yay!  Andrew cooked us a lovely meal of chicken and balsamic veg followed by cornetto's, yum. The kids fell asleep within seconds!

Tullebudgera - day 3

We awoke to a cloudy day so thought it seemed like a good day for a bush walk. We headed up to Springbrook National Park to see Purling Brook Falls. After a short walk to the lookout we were rewarded with some spectacular views. Next we located ice cream and the children fell asleep on the windy road down the mountain. We had a late lunch at the campsite then walked to the creek for an afternoon laze by the beach and a gentle game of catch followed by a bbq and beer. And we were amazed to bump into Amelia's teacher - Mrs Wilson - when we went to brush our teeth at the toilets!!
