Medieval Day Out

Our last day trip of the school holidays was at the Abbey Museum. A medieval kids day full of archery,  swords and shields!

Snow Comes to Brisbane

The children enjoyed their day in the snow with friends Ben and Dan including climbing a really cool tree!

Dreamworld

We've made good use of our six month passes to this theme park on the gold coast. Today was the last day before they expired and we had great fun. William is the most daring - enjoying various terrifying rollercoasters, while Amelia charmed fluffy characters galore. We did fleetingly think of leaving them in ye olde gaol though.........

Tiering The Veggie Patch

Our back garden is quite steep and the sloping area I use as a veggie patch needed some attention. So last weekend and this afternoon we spent constructing a couple of retaining walls to make the levels a bit more level. Looking like there is more work to do!

New House At Mango Hill

After month's of building the new rental property is almost ready for handover. We were allowed inside for the first time and it was very shiny and new. I wish my bathroom looked like these!  Amelia had already picked her bedroom - not sure how to break it to her that we're not moving in!

William Earns Ju Jitsu Yellow Belt

William was all smiles tonight when he proudly received his yellow belt in ju jitsu. He's trained hard for it over the last few months and we are very proud of his achievement.

Brissie to Bay

Andrew does this cycling event most years and this is the second time we've dropped him off at the start. It involves leaving home at 5pm - kids still half asleep in PJ 's and blankets. It's all quite exciting as the sun hasn't come up yet. We drop Andrew near the start then find a parking and viewing spot. The kids get dressed. The city is covered in fog and the Brisbane river swirls beneath. Back up on the road that runs alongside the river, hundreds of cyclists zoom past. Finally we hear a small 'Hello! ' and here comes dad amid the throng. That's it for us,  but only the beginning for Andrew. Ahead of him lies a 100 km ride. Still,  we see the sun rising as we head for breakfast at MacDonalds, so it promises to be a fine day after all.
