Green island is one of the only islands on the reef where u can snorkel straight off the beach. We did this while dad and Jo went out further to a platform located on the outer reef. Amelia was hesitant at first but once she got the hang of it, was keen to go further out. The boys were more adventurous and swam a long way off shore. We all saw turtles, big stripey fish, giant angel fish, a little reef shark and Andrew even spotted a mantra ray. It was a memorable day.
We spent a quiet day at our beach - Trinity - on Monday. The weather was perfect and Grampy did a great job of keeping the kids occupied in the water.
Sunday we hired cars so we could drive up to Hartley's Creek to see some crocs. It was a great day with lots of animal encounters. Then we drove a bit further up the coast to Port Douglas where we had dinner in a lively tavern. Croc was not on the menu.

Waking up this morning to a beautiful sunrise at Trinity Beach. The view from our balcony stretches 180 degrees along the coast.
William confidently won his first semi-final match with a beaming smile. His second match was tougher and though he put up a brave fight, lost to the current favorite (and eventual finals winner). His spirits were buoyed by his coach, Jesse, as he was declared most improved for the term and awarded a racquet-shaped medal. Very proud.
We're making good use of our annual passes and enjoyed another long day of rides with christine felix and timo.
The children managed to convince me to ride the rollercoaster 4 times in a row. I was feeling quite queasy after that.
The kids had to go to school dressed as a character from a book. William chose Willy Wonka and Amelia was Alice in Wonderland. Costumes by me :)
