The Inter-Schools Tennis Final!

Ben and William outside the arena, with everything to play for.

Ben Kelly and William Porter represented Patricks Road State School at the Brisbane International Interschools Cup this year.  PRSS were certainly the underdogs in this competition, with only these two dedicated sportsmen from the school in the team at the finals on Sunday.  Tension was high at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane where 8 schools battled out for a place in the Grand Final and the chance to meet Roger Federer in December.  Thankfully the team were joined by the coaches son and daughter to help make up the numbers.  They all played exceptionally well and had some big wins despite their small number of 4.  They all thoroughly enjoyed the comp and the chance to play on the impressive Centre Court the highlight of the day.
The odds were against PRSS though and the team were understandably disappointed when they finished 5th overall - Roger will have to wait to meet these two upcoming tennis stars another day!  Well done, boys.  You did us proud!

Still managing to summon a smile after the presentation ceremony.

Holiday on Stradbroke Island

Catching the ferry to Straddie in the rain.

So desperate to go in the sea, they didn't even take off their clothes!

"I'm surfing!"

A great day for the beach.

Brown Lake.  So called due to the colour the leaves from the trees makes the water.

He gets better every day!

The local gelati shop a short walk from the holiday house (Amelia dubbed it the picnic house)

On the headland overlooking the Pacific Ocean where the whales were on their migration south.
Beautiful and deserted Flinders Beach

Fishing in the wind isn't easy!

Pizza night!

Must be a good pizza.

Fish and chips - the last night dinner out.

Peace and tranquility.

Bit windy on the ferry.
Beach kids.

William Turns 6

It's hard to believe my baby boy is six already.  I really don't know where the time has gone.  Here he is sitting on his new "Huffy", the latest craze amongst the kids in the street!

After opening presents, we picked up 3 of William's friends to take them ice skating, which was great fun and even though they tried many times to pull me over (unintentionally), I managed to stay upright!

A game of Air Hockey that went on, and on, and on.......

Then it was back to our house for some spaceship Birthday cake and a well deserved cuppa.
William also proved to be a lovely big brother by sharing his presents with his little sister.

It's my party and I'll.....do whatever I want!

Amelia's 3rd Birthday today, but we had a party for her and her friends yesterday at the indoor play centre down the road. Today  is a little more low-key and we had the present opening this morning, followed by an intimate family dinner this evening - with yet more Birthday cake!  She's had a wonderful Birthday and Amelia was very lucky to receive many, many presents (I'll have to buy some more storage boxes now!). Photo's from yesterday and today below.

"Helping" make cakes for the party.

My best friend Thalia.

My Dora Cake!

"Did you really cut Dora's legs off to put her on the cake, Mummy?"

Easter Craft, Too Much Chocolate and Bunny Ears!

Amelia was very proud of her be-jewelled Easter egg.

Not one bit of colouring out of the lines!

William is by far the quickest egg hunter and snatched up a massive haul.

A very happy bunny!
Home Made Bunnies

Take two children, add copious amounts of chocolate, mix well and put to bed.  Leave for one hour, check to see if eyes still open..........they were :)
